VW Gives a Glimpse of the Next-Generation Jetta
What Volkswagen is calling the "New Compact Coupe" concept, is essentially our first official preview of what the forthcoming Sixth-generation Jetta will look like. If you've been following Volkswagen news lately at all, you'll know that they have been working on the "New Compact Sedan", which is to become the new Jetta. Volkswagen is making no effort to disguise the fact that this New Compact Coupe concept is closely related to the New Compact Sedan.
Stylistically, this concept bears strong resemblance to it's larger, more expensive cousin: the Audi A5. Compared to the current Jetta V, VW has squared off and tightened up the more rounded, almost bulbous body. It marks a return to the square headlights, one of the Jetta's signature design features over the generations.
Inside, Volkswagen took great pains to make the rear seats not only usable, but rather comfortable and an inviting place to be. Despite the sporty low body height, the car offers ample head room (front and rear) as well as leg room in the rear.
